Uniform Policy
2007-2008
This is additional and according to Washington Parish School Board code
of conduct.
All Students at TES will follow the following dress code regulations:
Pants must be dark dress Khaki only. Stretch or jean material is not allowed. All pants must have belt loops. Pants must be hemmed with no slits or holes. Pants will be worn at the waist.
No low-riders will be permitted. No cargo or carpenter style pants will be allowed. Capri pants must have belt loops and cannot be spandex-tight fitting style. No labels can be shown.
Shirts must be navy and must be tucked in at all times.
The wearing of uniforms which are oversized; baggy, sagging, or extremely tight fitting is prohibited.
Undershirts must be white and must not extend beyond the bottom of the sleeve.
Belts are to be black, brown or khaki and worn at all times.
Footwear must be worn to school with socks or appropriate hosiery. No flip-flops will be allowed.
Jackets must button, zip or snap and open all the way down the front. No pullover jackets may be worn at any time. Jackets should be a solid color to match the school uniform, such as navy. No brightly colored jackets will be allowed. No logo can be shown unless it is a school logo.
Students will not be allowed to wear any type of chains or necklaces outside of their clothing. No extreme buttons, pins, or broaches are to be worn, with the exception of school spirit buttons.
All caps, hats, skullcaps and bandannas are banned from school campuses during regular school hours, except when a medical condition or religious belief so warrants.
All shorts, jumpers, and skirts must be in close proximity to the knee.
Navy blue sweatshirts are allowed for the cold weather, but cannot have any logo. These will be worn over uniform shirt with collar showing. These can be kept on during class time. No hooded sweatshirts allowed.
Body piercing, lines cut in the hair, Mohawk cuts, and extreme coloring style of hair, tails, are prohibited.
Shirts being tucked in and wearing a belt will be enforced.
Consequences for violations of dress code
Students will be issued a warning for the first and second dress code violation.
Next, the student will be assigned to Saturday detention.
If a student continues to violate the dress code, they will be assigned to SAEP (Students Alternative Educational Placement).
